Conjugation

Cuocere

to cook

Irregular verb, gerund cuocendo, past participle cotto, auxiliary essere.

  • Avere or essere

Here cuocere takes essere: le verdure sono cotte. With a direct object it takes avere: ho cotto le verdure.

Lei, the polite you, takes the form of lui / lei: Lei parla.

After essere, the participle agrees with the subject: andato, andata, andati, andate.

Underlined: the stem is not the infinitive’s.
