    Here crescere takes essere: i bambini sono cresciuti. With a direct object it takes avere: ha cresciuto tre figli.

Lei, the polite you, takes the form of lui / lei: Lei parla.

After essere, the participle agrees with the subject: andato, andata, andati, andate.
