Irregular verb, gerund andando, past participle andato, auxiliary essere.

  • va' / vai

    The command to tu is va' / vai. Before a pronoun the short form doubles its consonant: vacci. Gli does not double it: vagli incontro.

Lei, the polite you, takes the form of lui / lei: Lei parla.

After essere, the participle agrees with the subject: andato, andata, andati, andate.
