Conjugation

sich einreden

to convince oneself of something

Weak verb, separable, reflexive, dative, auxiliary haben.

  • Separable: ein

In a main clause, ein goes to the end: er redet sich … ein. It stays joined in a subordinate clause (…, dass er sich einredet), in the participle eingeredet, and with zu: einzureden.

  • mir, dir

The reflexive pronoun is dative: ich rede mir ein, ich habe mir eingeredet. Uns, euch, and sich are the same in both cases.

sie / Sie: they, and Sie, the polite you, take the same form: sie fahren, Sie fahren.
