Conjugation

sich anhören

to listen to something

Weak verb, separable, reflexive, dative, auxiliary haben.

  • Separable: an

In a main clause, an goes to the end: er hört sich … an. It stays joined in a subordinate clause (…, dass er sich anhört), in the participle angehört, and with zu: anzuhören.

  • mir, dir

The reflexive pronoun is dative: ich höre mir an, ich habe mir angehört. Uns, euch, and sich are the same in both cases.

sie / Sie: they, and Sie, the polite you, take the same form: sie fahren, Sie fahren.
