Transition off

amener quelqu’un à abandonner progressivement quelque chose

Regular verb, phrasal verb.

  • Phrasal verb: off

Only transition changes; off stays the same: transitioned off, transitioned off.

  • Object in the middle

The object can go before off, as the card writes it: transition someone off something. A pronoun always does: transition it off.

In speech, the helping verbs shorten: I’m, he’s, we’re, I’ve, I’ll, I’d.
