Throw away

jeter

Irregular verb, phrasal verb.

  • Phrasal verb: away

Only throw changes; away stays the same: threw away, thrown away.

  • Object in the middle

The object can go before away, as the card writes it: throw something away. A pronoun always does: throw it away.

In speech, the helping verbs shorten: I’m, he’s, we’re, I’ve, I’ll, I’d.
