Take away from

nuire à

Irregular verb, phrasal verb.

Conjugated like shake, mistake, overtake, retake, forsake

  • Phrasal verb: away from

Only take changes; away from stays the same: took away from, taken away from.

  • Object in the middle

The object can go before away from, as the card writes it: take something away from something. A pronoun always does: take it away from.

In speech, the helping verbs shorten: I’m, he’s, we’re, I’ve, I’ll, I’d.

Underlined: the stem is not the infinitive’s.
