Conjugation

Sweep off

balayer

Irregular verb, phrasal verb.

Conjugated like keep, sleep, creep, weep, oversleep

  • Phrasal verb: off

Only sweep changes; off stays the same: swept off, swept off.

  • Object in the middle

The object can go before off, as the card writes it: sweep something off. A pronoun always does: sweep it off.

In speech, the helping verbs shorten: I’m, he’s, we’re, I’ve, I’ll, I’d.

Underlined: the stem is not the infinitive’s.
