See off

despedir-se de, levar até a saída

Verbo irregular, phrasal verb.

Conjuga-se como oversee, foresee

  • Phrasal verb: off

Só see muda; off fica igual: saw off, seen off.

  • O complemento no meio

O complemento pode vir antes de off, como no cartão: see someone off. Um pronome sempre fica aí: see them off.

Na fala, os auxiliares se contraem: I’m, he’s, we’re, I’ve, I’ll, I’d.

Sublinhado: o radical não é o do infinitivo.
