Run by

passer en courant

Irregular verb, phrasal verb.

  • Phrasal verb: by

Only run changes; by stays the same: ran by, run by.

  • Object in the middle

The object can go before by, as the card writes it: run something by someone. A pronoun always does: run it by.

In speech, the helping verbs shorten: I’m, he’s, we’re, I’ve, I’ll, I’d.
