Conjugation

Rest on

reposer sur

Regular verb, phrasal verb.

  • Phrasal verb: on

Only rest changes; on stays the same: rested on, rested on.

  • Object in the middle

The object can go before on, as the card writes it: rest something on. A pronoun always does: rest it on.

In speech, the helping verbs shorten: I’m, he’s, we’re, I’ve, I’ll, I’d.
