Conjugation

Lift off

décoller

Regular verb, phrasal verb.

  • Phrasal verb: off

Only lift changes; off stays the same: lifted off, lifted off.

  • Object in the middle

The object can go before off, as the card writes it: lift something off something. A pronoun always does: lift it off.

In speech, the helping verbs shorten: I’m, he’s, we’re, I’ve, I’ll, I’d.
