Conjugation

Leave on

laisser quelque chose allumé

Irregular verb, phrasal verb.

  • Phrasal verb: on

Only leave changes; on stays the same: left on, left on.

  • Object in the middle

The object can go before on, as the card writes it: leave something on. A pronoun always does: leave it on.

In speech, the helping verbs shorten: I’m, he’s, we’re, I’ve, I’ll, I’d.

Underlined: the stem is not the infinitive’s.
