Conjugation

Eat off

manger quelque chose sur quelque chose

Irregular verb, phrasal verb.

  • Phrasal verb: off

Only eat changes; off stays the same: ate off, eaten off.

  • Object in the middle

The object can go before off, as the card writes it: eat something off something. A pronoun always does: eat it off.

In speech, the helping verbs shorten: I’m, he’s, we’re, I’ve, I’ll, I’d.
